Instyle Ceramics - More Than Just Tiles

Client case study

Who They Are

InStyle Ceramics are a Perth-based tile supplier working across homeowners, builders, and trades.

They’re a family-run team, with parents and kids working alongside each other, and that dynamic flows through everything they do. There’s a genuine sense of support, not just within the team, but in how they show up for their clients as well — whether that’s a homeowner trying to make decisions or a tiler needing reliable supply and advice.

Why They booked a Branding Shoot

Like a lot of established businesses, they were doing great work behind the scenes, but they wanted images that actually showed who they were and how they worked.

They wanted images that reflected:

  • their expertise

  • their personalised service

  • the family-led nature of the business

  • and the relationships they’ve built with both clients and trades

Because when you’re asking someone to trust you with big decisions (like building or renovating), stock photos or outdated images just don’t cut it.

The Approach

Before the shoot, we jumped on a strategy call to map everything out properly.

This wasn’t just about “getting some photos.” It was about understanding how their business actually works, who they’re speaking to, and what needed to come across visually.

We built out a timeline for the shoot and focused on two key parts of the business:

  • The workshop / trade side — to show how they support tilers and the hands-on nature of what they do

  • The showroom — to highlight the experience for customers, the design guidance, and those real conversations that happen when people are choosing finishes for their space

The goal was to capture both sides of the business in a way that felt real, not staged.

What We Captured on the Day

The Workshop

Out in the workshop, the focus was on the practical side of the business.

We captured:

  • interactions with materials and tools

  • the process behind the scenes

  • and the way they support trades with both product and knowledge (including making coffee for their customers in they workshop area).

It gave a much clearer picture of how they work with tilers, not just supply them.

The Showroom

Inside the showroom, everything shifted slightly.

This was more about:

  • conversations

  • guidance

  • and helping clients feel confident in their choices

  • focus on individual portraits and team shots

We focused on natural interactions between staff and customers, as well as moments between the team themselves. You could really see the dynamic here — supportive, collaborative, and genuinely invested in helping people get it right.

Also… the family puppy made an appearance and very much stole the show (and yes, got its own profile photo).

The Outcome

The final gallery gave them a bank of images they can use across their website, marketing, and day-to-day content, that actually reflects who they are as a business.

After the shoot, they mentioned how comfortable they felt throughout the process, and how valuable it was to have someone lead and guide the day so it all ran smoothly.

Which, to be honest, is half the job.

Why Branding Photography Matters

For businesses like InStyle Ceramics, it’s not just about products.

It’s about:

  • trust

  • expertise

  • and the experience of working with the team

When your branding photos show how you actually work — your people, your process, your environment — it makes it easier for the right clients to connect with your business and take the next step.
